This Father’s Day, we asked the dads at Leadbolt to reveal the mobile apps they rely on to keep their families organized and happy.  While there’s no single app for great parenting, there are a variety of games, educational apps, shopping apps, and utility apps that enhance each day. Below is our curated list of the mobile apps that help make fatherhood look easy-ish:

Education and Learning Apps

Splash Math – Math education for all grade levels.

First Words Deluxe – If your child is old enough to ask for your phone, they’re old enough for First Words Deluxe! First Words Deluxe provides endless fun for the toddlers in your life, all while giving your child a head start on learning their letters and learning to spell words.

Games and Entertainment

My Talking Tom – Not ready to bring a real animal home for good?  A virtual pet teaches responsibility and caretaking fundamentals, as your child adopts Tom, an adorable pet kitten and takes good care of him as he grows into a cat.

Lego ® apps – Any and all Lego apps!  We proudly pass the Lego tradition on to our kids and future generations to come!  It’s a safe community for boys and girls of all ages.

Cut the Rope – a Free, physics-based game by ZeptoLabs is adorable and also award-winning.  The little Om Nom monster uses science themes (gravity, etc.) to open the box and unlock his favorite candy treat.  This game is recognized by several awards including:  Apple Design Award, BAFTA Award, Pocket Gamer Award, GDC Award, Best App Ever Award

Angry Birds – Those greedy pigs!  Long live this legendary and classic mobile game for all ages.  The kids are on board with the merchandising too (Angry Bird apparel, backpacks, notebooks).

The Wheels On The Bus – An educational and musical bus ride!  11 beautiful verses of the song (You ‘re singing it in your head already, aren’t you) and 12 games all in one app.

Youtube Kids – This is a delightfully simple (and free!) app, where kids can discover videos, channels and playlists they love. Because quiet time for grown ups is also nice.

Photos and Projects

Instagram – Whether or not your child gets their own channel is up to you, but it’s only a matter of time.

Shutterfly – Easily make photo books of your family memories.  Photo books make great gifts for grandparents too.  You can also print FREE, unlimited 4×6 and 4×4 prints exclusively on the Shutterfly app.  Make collages and other crafts using the photos.

Pinterest – Get lost in the wonder of aspirational and inspirational idea boards. Discover fun projects to do ranging from all kinds of crafts and art for all ages, hair braiding, cooking, and much, much more. Expect some “Pinterest Fails” along the way, but perfection is the time spent with the kiddos!

On the Go

Cozi Family Organizer –  Manage your jam-packed life and keep the whole family in the loop with Cozi. Cozi turns all your devices into ultimate family organizers with a shared calendar, shopping lists, to do lists, recipe box, and more everyone can access on the go.

GLYMPSE – Sharing your location in real time makes it easier to meet up with people in your area for a playdate at the park, a hike, bike rides, or for when you’re dropping the kids off and want to feel secure knowing your kid is with another parent.  You can also allow your child some freedom while still keeping an eye on their whereabouts.

Waze – Improve commutes and ensure you’re on time for pick-ups and drop-offs.  Waze gets you there using the shortest route.

Flipp – Flipp matches your favorite products with local coupons and flyer deals, so you get the best deals on your weekly essentials.  Tip: Teach your kids how to save money by letting them create their own grocery list.

Amazon – Millions of products at your fingertips.  Reliable shipping.  Enough said.

The Honest Co – Find fashionable diapers and personal care items for you baby – all safe and effective.

Good Eats

Yummly – Picky eaters?  When it’s time to eat, Yummly matches over 1 million recipes to your cooking lifestyle’s nutrition, diet, food allergies, and favorite cuisines.  Add the recipe items to your grocery list.  Store your favorite recipes in your digital recipe box.

WebMD  – Look up symptoms, treatments, first aid, and a whole range of medical information when you can’t get to a doctor.

Wikipedia – Offspring inevitably ask something that you can’t answer! Outsmart your kids every time.

Lully  – Night terrors affect many kids (and their sleep deprived parents).  Lully, the Sleep Guardian, is a small vibrating pod, placed beneath your child’s mattress, and it vibrates to gently move your child to a safer stage of sleep.

To all of the dads, fathers, step-dads, fathers-in-law and parental figures who care for their families, you are appreciated!  Have a wonderful Father’s Day weekend from all of us at Leadbolt!
